Hmmm, I've been very slack about posting here but the work continues.
I foolishly continued with the power cleans on the weekend and have aggravated my knee. I was doing well, technique-wise, and got a bit cocky.
My physio wasn't too concerned, just told me to steer clear of power exercises for the next month. And to get the swelling down.
He did say I can do runthroughs when the fluid has dispersed. VINDICATION! For the most part, my judgment is trustworthy and I can't tell you how much confidence that gives me. Think of it this way: I have none of the resources of the National Training Squad or ARU medical staff, etc, but I'm doing well enough leaning on my own resources.
And that is infinitely pleasing.
So, next steps: I'm eschewing leg weights sessions until the swelling is gone, hopefully that will be at the end of this week. In the stead of these, I'll do 4 x 4 standing climbs with 20 secs mid efforts (ala Glory Days Sufferfest).
I've also lined up a chat with Drew to lay out my goals and seek an understanding of what he wants from his openside flanker.
Prabh is recommending that I keep a journal and I reckon that's a goer.
