    great 6 mi 01:13 12:09 pace

6 miles with Jennifer along the River Trail. As always, so much fun catching up and before I knew it, we were back at my car! Pretty humid out, but being by the water and the shade from the trees m... read more

  2. RUN
    good 3.01 mi 00:30 09:54 pace

3 pace miles. Avg pace was right where it has been, but I really had to fight for it today! First mile was way too fast - it always is. Consistency is my biggest problem; I have such a hard time co... read more

Awesome 3 miles this morning - it was SO cool and wonderful! As much as I love summer, I am looking forward to fall running :-D

Soooooooooo. I was supposed to do 6x400 and did 5. I SWORE I saw lightning a few times and didn't feel like getting zapped so I skipped the last repeat. Splits were kind of ugly...I started ou... read more

Lightning is no joke! I don't blame you! It's ok to be under a bit at the start. It's better to start off low and be able to bring it home on the last couple intervals. Of course I say this because I'm just as guilty of wanting to hit max right out of the gate. >< lol Look at those paces, though - purpose of the run aside - you are definitely building some speed in those legs!

Nichole, you're so right! I was doing it right the other way - save a little for the last few! I could really tell the difference - I usually feel strong and controlled and today I was like a baby deer with arms and legs flailing all over trying to run, hahaha! BUT you're also right that I AM GETTING FASTER! :-D That is seriously exciting!
Andplusalso I'm pretty sure the lighting was a case of "the mind sees what it chooses" because I was D-U-N - done. LOL!

  6. RUN
    great 3.5 mi 00:41 11:36 pace

Nice, easy recovery run. Only 10 seconds/mile slower than Saturday's run and my HR was 14bpm slower. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm interested....

I read that HR can be affected by everything from caffeine to stress, not to mention weather, so it may be other factors too. Nice run!

    alright 6 mi 01:09 11:27 pace

HR was jacked from the get go and I couldn't seem to get it down. I had so much on my mind and every time I started to let my mind go "there", my heart rate went through the roof.

My heart rate is always elevated when I am under stress. Even my resting HR can go up by a significant amount. Some days are just like that.

It's amazing how other factors affect (effect?? Never sure on that one...) HR. It's not just a few beats either! It's a significant amount, and in a way, a really good reminder for me to try to not let the little things bother me! :-)

Pace run! Made sure that I was in my HR zone - not a little under like last time - and what do you know? Paces back in the 9's. I was a little inconsistent in the pacing: 9:13, 9:41. 9:37, but... read more

My DM has been very hit or miss with the notifications... It seems to pick and choose what it wants to send me. Like I just got notification that you posted this response but yet I had no notification anyone posted on my most recent run.

Pace run this morning. A little slower than last week's pace, and looking at my avg hr, I probably could have picked up the pace a little more but overall a nice effort!
