James, that was an awesome effort. I have never run this course but have heard from others that it is TOUGH!. Your training regimen has been an inspiration to me and its' results show.

Great run, James! Your story is what makes this runnig thing so much fun! It's not always easy, but you get a lot of satisfaction in exchange for your effort.

My girls enjoyed the puppy bowl ... and it looks like you enjoyed this nice recovery run. Particularly nice transition from yesterday's "yuck" feeling to a more positive start to the pre-race week.

I would just chalk this up to the so-called "taper-madness" and remain confident that your race will be reflective of your whole strong body of training - not this outlier. Sorry you had but it is out of the way James ... now onto driving that Mercedes to victory!

Nothing wrong with stepping back and taking it easy for a week every now and then, nice job getting some miles on the books.
