Shiny new PR. So unexpected. I just felt great the whole way.
Early start, up at 445am, and headed over to Hampton, where we met up with Dai (steves coach), Marie and Bill Price, Shannon, Andrew P. Chris Bradley, Drew Midland, and loads of other familiar faces. It was 58 degrees, 22mph winds and pouring at 630am, but it soon cleared up a bit and the wind wasnt too bad, at about 15mph.
Steve S. decided to give the race a go, as he was feeling better, and I was a bit nervous for him, but so glad to see him lining up to race !!
I drank my @Genucan 30 mins before start, and soon we were on our way. I decided after 4 or 5 miles to just go for a PR and see if I could do it, and Im glad I did >>I kept waiting for the legs to protest, they did a little about mile 9 or 10, and then it started to get a bit more windy, and the rain started and it poured !!!
Over all I am really happy, and ready for next weeks training...
Congrats to all who raced, and everyone who had awesome races in their marathons, very inspiring performances for sure.
