I walked and jogged this last night with my two children in the stroller. Off to do it again today. I really felt great when I got home, not at all like I thought I would feel!

Good for you Alison! Do you know how many people would consider 2 small children an "excuse" for not exercising? No barriers! In some small way, this might influence your kids toward a more active and healthy lifestyle too!

  5. Okay, so I totally need a little help! I have never in my life been a runner and I really want to start! What do I need to do first? My goal is to run in a half marathon in November! Input anyone?

We'll you've come to the right place :)

The best advice I can give is just to start. Go out there and do what you can. Then come back to dailymile, report your miles and if you have any questions - ask away!

We're here to help you reach your goal.

A half marathon in November is a lofty goal but certainly achievable with hard work and commitment. Start by finding a training program and begin getting the miles under your belt. Eat healthy to keep your energy levels high and have fun with it. Get the kids involved by running with you or tracking your times and distance on a track. Running usually is walking or jogging to warm up, running at your pace for a set distance, cooling down with another jog or walk and then stretching. Good luck and agai
