      I love these trails too -- was just there volunteering for Miwok this past weekend and plan on running the Marin Ultra Challenge next month. Possibly at Headlands later in the year too.

      I just found my HR monitor last week. As soon as I can get outside again I plan to start running with it again. What kind of range do you try to stay in as you are running?

      I'm going by maffetone's 180 formula. The short version is that it is 180-age. There are some tweaks to that depending on a few variables but thats pretty much the basics. So, being an old geezer I try to keep my HR at or just under 141 to keep things aerobic. I'm going to try and stick out at least 6 months of this and see how it goes. This is tough for me as I generally have no brakes and like to go 'fast-ish'...

    avg hr = 138. started the run a bit dehydrated and had just drank a huge coffee (as I tend to do) but felt really good to get outdoors. Got caught in a warm downpour on the way back. :)
