After being encouraged by Allison to run with my dogs, I decided to try it this afternoon. So, I'll explain the title 3xK9 5K.

The last part (5K) is the easiest. Together, we all ran 5k (3.1 ... read more

      made me smile, thank you!

The average of your dogs' pace sounds like a nice pace for me. Our 12 year old rottweiler Lennox is probably around a 20:00 minute mile.

How cool! So I take it that Jasper was your favorite because you ran most with him?

Well, Jasper is a little bigger and can run better/longer. Lucy (our border collie mix) has a bad hip, so I didn't want to push her too much. Aggie did the best she could with her little legs. :)

good Around the neighborhood 3.26 mi 00:31 09:25 pace

For the last10 days or so, I've had leg pains when I run (shins and ankles mostly). This time, I started out slower and felt much better. Plus, negative splits!

Is she becoming a runner, Alan? Wish I could've been there tonight. It was a birthday night at our house.

I don't know. She's trying. Tonight was tough for her (which is why we only did 2 miles). But, she did the 3 mile run Sunday and zumba yesterday. So, she deserves a break. :)

I believe these first runs are the hardest of all. I've had some hard longer runs, but the first few really take determination.

I'm not sure I've fully recovered from my first marathon back in February. I usually start feeling tired, sore, and depleted after the first couple of miles. I almost feel like I'm starting over again.

interesting. do u have another specific goal in mind you are running toward or are the goals always shifting? i don't have any desire to do a marathon.

I'm running two more half marathons in the next couple of months: 1 in May and 1 in June. I probably won't register for any other races until next fall. I don't run very well in the summer humidity. :)

amazing how quickly u went from walking to doing runs like this, wow! I know it probably didn't feel quick to you and it took so much hard work - but from my couch and rocking chair with my babies it felt quick hehe

Bobby said it was wet and muddy yesterday (or the day before?). Did you have any problems with slippery trail?

The trail was a little slippery in places, and there were a couple of creek crossings (without bridges). But, seriously, the trail section (about 1 mile) was the best part of this race.
