I ran the first half with the 2:15 pace group and the second half with Olga until she took off and left me with 1.5 miles remaining.

made me smile, thank you!
The average of your dogs' pace sounds like a nice pace for me. Our 12 year old rottweiler Lennox is probably around a 20:00 minute mile.

How cool! So I take it that Jasper was your favorite because you ran most with him?

RUN
good Around the neighborhood 3.26 mi 00:31 09:25 pace
For the last10 days or so, I've had leg pains when I run (shins and ankles mostly). This time, I started out slower and felt much better. Plus, negative splits!
-
awesome! your body was just telling you to go slower for now to recoup. what's negative split?

Is she becoming a runner, Alan? Wish I could've been there tonight. It was a birthday night at our house.

alright Joyner Park 4.2 mi 00:40 09:35 pace
First 2.5 miles felt great. Then my shins started hurting and my feet felt like lead.

I'm not sure I've fully recovered from my first marathon back in February. I usually start feeling tired, sore, and depleted after the first couple of miles. I almost feel like I'm starting over again.

interesting. do u have another specific goal in mind you are running toward or are the goals always shifting? i don't have any desire to do a marathon.

I'm running two more half marathons in the next couple of months: 1 in May and 1 in June. I probably won't register for any other races until next fall. I don't run very well in the summer humidity. :)

good RunRaleigh Half Marathon 13.49 mi 02:13 09:52 pace
I really enjoyed this half marathon. I ran with the 2:15 pace group through mile 9, and the pace leader was awesome. The last mile uphill was brutal.

Excellent! I think I was on the other side of possum track. And it was 1pm when I was out. I expect to try that section next week though. Sounds like these group trail runs are well attended. :-)

I've been surprised at how many people are doing these group trail runs. Last fall, there were 5-10 people usually. This time, there have always been more than 20, and there were more than 30 today.

good Hasentree 5k Trail Race 3.1 mi 00:29 09:26 pace
Some course direction problems. Had to stop to figure out which way to good. Trail section was great!

Bobby said it was wet and muddy yesterday (or the day before?). Did you have any problems with slippery trail?

The trail was a little slippery in places, and there were a couple of creek crossings (without bridges). But, seriously, the trail section (about 1 mile) was the best part of this race.
