    great Pilates session 01:15

    Done lots of foot stretches, ankle stretches and calf stretches as well as lots of abs, some leg stuff and some arm stuff. But the main focus was on my feet as they were achy and stiff after the walk.

      First, Anne, great walk! Then, where on the back of your soles? Like at your heels, but on the bottom of the foot? And--I know you said it was tender--but what is the soreness like? Is there any blistering/bruising/etc?

      Sounds like it could be heel bursitis (the location of the tenderness, plus the redness+warmishness). It would have been brought on by all the walking you've done lately to prep for the 100K. Try icing the heel area several times a day, along with NSAIDS. Heel wedges for your shoes may work to take the stress off the tender area. If it is heel bursitis, you'll need to rest...which I know you don't want to hear, with your big walk fast approaching.

      Hmm, no, that's not what I want to hear :-)
      I will try on Sunday to tape the heel, so there is less friction with the sock and we'll see what happens. I've tried gel pads before and they are quite useless.
      I am icing at least once a day. And putting aloe vera gel cream on it and that seems to help. I am only walking once a week, so generally the foot has a week to recover. So fingers crossed it will be OK.

    I walked in with pain on the side of my leg after the walk on Sunday, and walked out pain free + felt I still did some good exercises.

      I love my pilates sessions. It's really helped me after my car accident, even though I started too early, I now really feel great improvement 18 months later

    20 hamstring curls with the ball

    We also worked on releasing my sides and it really felt much better.

      Releasing your sides sounds slightly unpleasant! Perhaps I have an overly vivid imagination. Sounds like a good session.

      it was painful indeed, especially my left side is still very tight after the accident from 18 months ago.
      But I felt much looser afterwards. So must be done!
