I don't want you to get tired of me saying how awesome I thing you are, so I won't go there. You could be one of the busiest "Maniacs" out there--why did you wait so long to join us? I can't talk. I earned minimum status in Apr and didn't join until August. Welcome to the club.

Becky: Thanks. :) I'm pretty busy, but I don't actually run that many official marathons. Even now I'm only going to join at the lowest level... though that may change next year!

And don't worry he never tires of hearing how awesome he is... Just kidding, but that was just too easy to pass up. :D

Maybe, hard to say because the fog and clouds wreaked havoc with my Garmin (it showed less than 26.2 miles at the finish). If it was, though, it wasn't egregious. There was flooding at one point along the course (along Parkers Woods Trail), so they routed us up to a parallel path. Maybe 10-20 yards difference there. Other than that, all I can say is the USATF certification map is a little unclear in the last mile, so we may have run something slightly different. Care to share the source of the rumors?

a high school friend ran it - it was his first - he shared with me that some guys registered 28 miles on their garmins.

It certainly wasn't that long. Clouds and fog, I say, clouds and fog. Even on a good day the GPS can be off by a few percent, which adds up... and Sunday was by no means a good day for GPS. :) Congrats to your friend, though... he on dailymile?
