This is where having HR and cadence really counts for me. Without, I fall into a "go up a gear, just a little faster" mindset. Here I focused on spinning briskly thoughout - noticeably, one cog less than I would typically use in any given situation - averaging 97rpm.

I was also right on my endurance HR: 138 average for the whole ride and 142 for the middle hour.

I cut the last 9 miles off this route in order to save half an hour and finish feeling fresh. Then I took 8yo cycling in the park in the afternoon, which was awesome.
