injured Same story, different chapter 8.3 mi 01:27 10:30 pace

    alright Ow 3.7 mi 00:38 10:22 pace

Cut this one short today. The plan was to go for at least 1hr but I felt this nagging calf ache throughout the run. It seemed to get worse as I continued so figured I could stop to run another day.... read more

Sometimes I think basebuilding is the hardest part of running. Getting back up to that 25-20 miles a week is such a pain. You get these nagging aches and pains as your body adjusts and all you want to do is RUN.

Looks like your marathon training is going well for you Ray. I hope you have cooler weather this year. Seems like every third year Chicago has cooler weather.

Awesome job, Ray. 100 minutes is some solid time on your feet, and nice work trying to stick to your HR zone. It's definitely not easy this time of year. Stay the course, my man, stay the course.

alright Lead Boots? 3.6 mi 00:36 09:56 pace

I ask - Who replaced my shoes with lead boots?! Talk about feeling sluggish. Got through the four planned reps during this workout but it was a struggle. On the plus side, got my run in for the day :)

Oh, you didn't want the lead boots this morning? I'm sorry I thought you did, told your wife to put those out for you instead of your other shoes :-) Hey, good run Ray :-)

Good getting in the workout. I've been feeling those lead boots as well lately. My legs have been a bit slow to getting used to the new workout routine, so I totally hear on the sluggishness Ray.

Nice run and miles even though you had to cut it short Ray. You can always try doing a run/walk if your HR is giving you fits on hot/humid days. I turned the beep off on my 305 shortly after I got it because it annoyed the crap out of me when I was HR training. I just look down occasionally to do a quick check on my HR now.
