Whose woods these are I think I know. I set out this morning for eight miles or so. Under misting rain with wet ground below, I let Frost's words decide the way to go; the path less traveled.

Take a trail I've never noticed by the Mill road bridge. Up slippery hills and old stream beds, I criss-cross through the woods until the path is overgrown and pond-like. Doubling back I find a connector trail that leads back to a familiar trail. Back on Mill rd, explore the opposite side of the bridge, ducking down by the river. The path is filled with downed trees - the work of beavers and past storms left behind for me to weave through, duck under and leap over and across. Fun, fun, and more fun. Proceed until the trail became green up to my armpits, at which point I turn around. Stumble across another offshoot that leads back up to Rt 31.

Up and down the huge hill behind the house, across to another river trail. Wind through the soft pine forest - dark and wet. Move through the lush green and end up covered in rainwater. Emerge refreshed.

Finish the run over at Trout Brook, on some tougher terrain - lots of roots. Rickety old wooden bridges with missing planks that bounce and sway as I cross them. Ran into two dogs by the small dam on the northwest side. Pond crossing by fallen sign-post.

Ran in the Montrail Rogue Racers again. First impression - I love the shoe. Very lightweight and felt very comfortable on all types of terrain today. Got muddy and wet but they seem to dry fairly quickly. No blistering or hot spots. In fact, I had a couple hot spots from running barefoot yesterday and those feel better after this run. A little bit of sliding in the shoe on angular/uneven surfaces, but I'm not sure many shoes handle this perfectly. Overall, very happy with these shoes thus far.

Hope you all have/had a fantastic weekend. Run Happy!

Great run, Adam. I don't get why many folks don't run trails more often.
