Nice and easy run today. A curious thing though... I ran this same route last Tuesday 2 minutes faster and at a lower avg HR than I did today... any suggestions as to why that could've happened? The only thing I can think is that during the first half of the run I had to back off my pace several times because I was going over my targeted HR range... I was just finding it easy to run faster, but maybe I just ended up backing off too much and that accounts for the difference... hmmm... maybe... what do you think?

Natural changing rhythms/energy levels in the body? Feeling sick or lack of sleep? Wind? So many possible explanations.

well, I'm not feeling sick, and I've been blessed to sleep in the last couple of days... not much wind... just weird... I had actually thought, based on Saturday's run, that today's would've been faster than last Tuesday's...

there are a ton of possible variables that may or may not have contributed. all other things being equal, i definitely notice a difference if i'm thinking too much about maintaining a pace or heart rate rather than running by feel.
