In honor of those who ran in the Olympic trials in Houston earlier today, and my friends Javier P. and Ashley A. who ran the Avalon 50 today - I ran hard too! I had a great run... 13 miles with 8 @MRP. My plan was to run by heart rate, so I wasn't sure how fast I'd end up running because this is the first long tempo run in my training plan. It was tough to keep it up, but in the end, I was really happy with my 6:51 pace avg for the 8 miles - especially as my avg HR was consistently around 170 - which is where I want it to be come race day. My goal MRP is 7, but I'm excited to see that I was able to run faster than that for the 8 miles at my goal HR.

But that's nothing compared with running 50 miles like Javier and Ashley did today... you rocked it today Ninjas! Run Hard... Run on!

    Thanks David, no, I'm not running LA (unless someone decides to sponsor me and pay for the registration)... I'm training for the OC marathon May 6th... registration costs, etc. prohibit me from running more than a couple races a year, and I wanted to run a spring race so I'd have a solid amount of time to train for it
