  1. Running moms, talk to me! How much does pushing a stroller slow you down? Did you have trouble regaining your speed post partum? Why can't I have my cake and lose the fat too? :D

As a running dad I can speak to the stroller pushing part. Pushing a stroller definitely ups the effort level, compared to not pushing one. How much depends on a variety of factors, including properly inflated tires, terrain, weather (those strollers catch a lot of wind), and the weight of the child riding in the stroller. I don't think I've ever tried to do anything other than easy paced runs with the stroller, unless I'm running downhill. Think of stroller runs as a little extra strength training.

Also, after running with a stroller for a while, you'll feel awesome on those runs without it.

.30 sec per mile maybe more into the wind. YES. Taken me two years and I'm still not where I was before baby 2. My bladder sucks. was fine after #1 but #2 it's bad.

Remember too that your core muscles have been absolutely obliterated - I never realized how much you need your core to be intact for speed until I had my kids (even after running all the way through my 2nd trimester). Even with extra workouts it just takes some time for your body to normalize.

Got out 2 hours later than I had hoped and had to cut it short because it got too hot for my shorty to be out. This running mom thing is challenging.

You don't need to be doing long runs right off the bat. Good job getting it done.

One of The hardest parts of being a mom is having to be flexible all the time. Make plans then be flexible or you'll go nuts.
