Not training for anything + HEAT + humidity meant I hadn't gone long in a while. Just too hot. But I had a day's rest behind me, beer last night, and some crackers in my tummy to keep it settled & fueled (I usually go empty to avoid cramps), so I made a goal to try at least 7mi. Did 9! Hot (70s-80) & sunny bc I waited too late in the day (10:30-1ish), but NICE breezes from lake helped me get through. Gotta remember how bearable this was when I'm complaining about 60s & sunny next spring! Also cool that everyone was out at the point, including: Girl Scouts cooking out, martial artists practicing in white gi, and young priests (25 at the oldest) picnicking in their long black robes. Such a vibrant community I live in. Didn't get the neg split (positive by 36 sec), but then again, I ran 9 freaking miles in the kind of weather I hate running in. Took it easy due to the heat--focused on steady endurance, plus time includes extra water fountain stops on the way back :)


I do love it when good weather brings out folks, makes our runs more scenic :)

this is some great training that is what we want! keep it up, it will pay off.
