      Say what you will about the yuppie factor - it's nice. I've been "slumming" it at the city park pools. Showers aren't much to speak of, but it's cheap and relatively easy to get to. Too bad about your goggles. That's funny. Mine actually felt pretty good today! I'll still look for some new ones. I may hit that RAM sport too. Great job getting in your swim and for kicking butt in the pool!

      Thanks Ben! Getting up is definitely the hardest part. But I'm doing it again RIGHT NOW. Off to West Loop pick up my buddy and go to her gym (I happen to work in West Loop Thursday mornings anyway so it's perfect). Def would not be up right now if we weren't in on this plan together. And if she hadn't promised perks of sauna & hot tub that my gym lacks...

      Great job Ursula! Having a buddy is usually great motivator for everyone. When you use just your arms do you also use a pool buoy?

      Thank you, Ben! Yes, I'm very grateful for the pull buoy as I'm not sure I'd be able to work out at all otherwise. And my buddy was impressed at how fast I could still go with it.

      I will, and you can! I'll admit it's hard to read about people even doing a PART of a race (let alone a long one) when I haven't been able to run in almost a year now and apparently can't even swim from the waist down, so I truly appreciate you writing this.

      awesome Ursula! That's great. I started swimming this summer as a way to cross train. I'm not that good, but I enjoyed it. I learned as a kid, but then stopped after high school gym class. Good for you for getting up and getting a workout in!

      Thanks, Ben! I'm still definitely not allowed to run (or bike, or walk much), which means I haven't been doing ANYTHING. I recently got the go-ahead from my dr. to start swimming, but I still didn't because I was so out of exercise mode. Now I've done it TWICE this week! I haven't really done it since HS either. I did 2 triathlons but definitely did not train for them...but I was on the swim team in HS!
