injured Incline treadmill 2 mi 00:25 12:32 pace

Broke away at work for a not-so-quick 2 miles of incline treadmill, progressing from 9-15% with a short 7% cooldown at the end.

good Huffing and puffing 2 mi 00:18 08:45 pace

Out in Colorado with the family, and we've been doing daily (5 yo pace) hikes, but this was was my first run in 3 months, on a not too rugged trail around the campgrounds. Muscles and lungs... read more

First workout in 2 months. I didn't exactly tear it up pace wise, but it was good to get some time on the legs.

      Thanks Jen.

Don't count me out yet! (well, I'm out for the Double, and the awesome 60th anniversary Doubler jacket)

Hoping they'll give me deferral if the body can't go.
Will decide in 4-6 weeks to allow them time to back-fill.

Sorry for the news, but at least you do have some yay's in there!
You will certainly be missed in Manitou!
I'm confident there will not be a doubler jacket anyhow!

Glad you are seeing an ortho and not doing the surgery yourself.

I've got a standing appointment in June with Prohaska, but my regular doc is trying to get me in sooner with someone else in the same clinic.
I'll take anyone experienced with this kind of injury, frankly. Its pretty uncommon, and the pain level is fairly high. Probably shouldn't be walking on it.

Was playing rugby when it happened, Shane, but I don't blame rugby. My genetics + tight tendons from distance running play a small part; biggest part is my going-for-broke style of play. Could've just as easily been softball.

  8. RUN
good DT Y track and stairwells 4.09 mi 00:46 11:20 pace

    Mile warmup, then repeats of:
3 flights of 56-step stairwell, double-stepping ups; 21 total flights
    1/3 mile on track

The body is slow, but the earth is patient.

  9. Today, may you be mindful of where you are, and what you are doing, and not looking to the future.

I'm sitting on my ass messing around on my phone while yelling at the kids to get their teeth brushed. Instead of looking to the future I should pour myself another glass of wine now instead of later.

  10. May you make it through the day without a bad motivator.

  11. May all of your runs today (Kessel or otherwise) be measured in time, not distance.

Beer does help, but it's hard to drink out of a glass when you're swinging your arms like a maniac trying to keep pace.

Thought about a squeeze bottle, but that would be all foam.
