  1. RUN
    great 10 mi

Going to try to just maintain until our next half in June.

Good idea. I always find it demotivating when I have to build up fitness that I've lost knowing how much better and easier my workouts use to be. Who knows... sticking to the same mileage load you may even knock more minutes off your next half.

I know...I hope so :) Planned to go 13 today, but weather brought us indoors and i only lasted 10 miles of mind numbing circles :)

  2. RUN
    great 4.6 mi

First run post race! Felt really good. I'm surprised how not very sore I was from the half marathon.

Great return to it. I use to be achy after half marathons but not any more. Amazing how your body can adapt to these distances over time.

Great effort keeping the runs going in the lead up to your half mara. You've put in the work so just enjoy the day;-)

Great work Tracy! With 11 + miles under your belt just a week before the half you should have a great race:-)

    So nice out!

  8. RUN
    good 4 mi

After school canyon run with a work friend! Ohh my legs are going to feel that downhill running tomorrow.

  9. RUN
    great 3.5 mi

After work run fueled by...STRESS. I felt pretty good.

  10. VELO
    great 5 mi

    Cycle and weights.

  11. RUN
    13 mi

The last few miles were kinda a joke, but I'm glad to get this distance in before race day in a few weeks.

  12. RUN
    good Treadmill 3.5 mi

Did speed work. Also, I hate to say this, but the last few runs I've had slight hip pain. Felt twinges of pain tonight also. I'm pretending that's not happening.

Yikes... hope the situation with the hip is just temporary. Best thing is probs just to monitor it and if it gets worse than a twinge during a run (especially if it forces you to change your running form) then stop your run there and give yourself some recovery time. Still managed a nice number of miles today mind you despite the twinge;-)

  13. RUN
    great 4 mi

Rainy out, so to the gym it was.

I would have done the same. Fab effort to not let the rain stop you from getting the job done.

Pretty much the same as my week then:-) Still... I think most would say a 12 miler ain't half bad lol.

    great 6.5 mi

    Usual Sunday cross training!

  16. RUN
    good 8 mi 01:35 11:52 pace

After the early morning run, I finished my miles with my husband for a total off 12 for the day. I really wish my longer runs were faster to beat my time at my upcoming half marathon.

I don't know how long you have before your half marathon but if it's very close then think of it as a practice for your next race. You'll be able to pick up speed naturally just by remaining consistent with your runs and getting in the key sessions (e.g. long run, speed work). Nice 8 miler to bulk up what you'd run earlier!

  18. RUN
    alright 3.2 mi

I did intervals. How come at the time, it seems so hard running those intervals, then when I finish and I'm cleaned up from my run, I feel like I did nothing?!

    • Stephen H.
      Stephen H.

You must be living in the moment:-) Nice work on those intervals. Despite feeling the same when in a resting state it's going to be doing you tons of good;-)

If the effort feels hard during the run then chances are your doing just fine - intervals seem like a good option as it requires you to run faster than you would be able to comfortably sustain for the whole distance
