    Made a wrong turn and went almost a half mile farther than planned. First time doing this run with the boys - bit to much next week we will let up a bit.

      Sorry you made wrong turn which resulted in the run not being as good as your past ones. Just think though, you and the boys can now say you did almost 4 miles!

      It's great seeing all the workouts you've been doing, I workout usually 5-6 times a week, will have to try and be diligent to enter it all. Possibly considering my 1st attempt @ a 10k on Monday, then going to possibly go with the family to Crabtree falls which is a really nice hike up these beautiful cascading falls, I forget how long the hike is.

      Good to get outside and have real workouts like walk/run/bike. Elliptical is good for building up endurance because it is low impact on the knees and ankles which helps to build up your ability to breath while increasing intensity etc. I've been very surprised at how the Elliptical has improved my running.

      I've been going for barefoot! That doesn't hurt the wallet. I can't barefoot on the treadmill but my last 5k at the park, after doing the 5k with shoes I did 1/4 mile barefoot. Obviously I've been tempering my feet by going barefoot as long as I can whenever I can just for walking around. Longest barefoot walk is about a mile.
