I rarely do structured workouts, but when I do, I really enjoy them, and see how they can improve my running. Today was 4 x 800 at 5K race pace with Kelli down by the river. Structured workouts are... read more

Those tenth mile markers are handy, aren’t they? 4x800 is a good workout choice. Nicely done.

Michele, it’s great. It lets you focus on your form. Sorry you don’t have a place like that there.

Michael - thinking about taking next weekend off and resting my weary legs before the PRR. But if I do a race, it will likely be the 5K in Sugar Hill.

Talk about consistency. First 3 miles were 10:50.4, 10:50.4, and 10:49.4. I really picked up the pace the 3rd mile. Warm and humid, made the 4th mile a little challenging. Overall very pleased wit... read more

Hello from Columbia, TN. If it was any more humid out this morning, I would’ve had to call this a 3.2 mile swim. Very comfortable run how long the shoulder of a lightly traveled road. Of course, th... read more

I continue to acclimate to typical hot steamy Atlanta summer weather. I’ve signed up for a couple of 10K’s over the next month or so to really build my endurance. Mileage for the past half year has... read more

With all our rain, the humidity has been very high. It definitely hit me hard in my 5k races on the last 2 Saturdays. But there is nothing like signing up & running races in the humidity to tackle it and get stronger.

Slept until 6 this morning. Out a little before 7, and at that point about 70% of the Run was still shaded. Temps were in the lower 70’s and humidity was not awful, so the weather was not a factor ... read more

Good plan to get this one done early. I know what you mean about urban New Jersey - not exactly run friendly. I have run in some sketchy places around Newark, including the graveyard featured in the opening sequence of The Sopranos. Have a good week - or as good as it can be in the "Garden State".
