And then there were no real speed workouts left. Today called for 8 miles with 3 x 1600m at 5K pace (6:15). After a 2 mile warm up, I started the repeats. They were a little tougher than they should have been, but I know that's because I ran harder than I should have yesterday and didn't get nearly enough sleep last night, not wanting to get up. Still I got all three done and then finished up with a couple cool down miles.

    Totally agree, Tammie! The hay's definitely in the barn. This last speed workout was more about reminding my legs that they can't slack off. Yeah, mile repeats aren't easy, but only 3 of them is a lot easier than the 7 miles @ half-marathon to 15K pace lactate threshold runs of several weeks ago. Those sucked! :-)

    Yeah, you're right Aaron. I killed the 5 mile "race" on Sunday, and that was only :12/mi slower. Just something about 5K pace that isn't fun.
