      I hope you feel better. I admire you for even running a half-marathon at, you have a lot going on! I have totally lost the endurance I had just 2 months ago when I did a half. The longest I have run in the past month is 6+ miles, so dont be too hard on yourself!

      It sounds to me as if you already have it all figured out. If you're base building you don't want or need to race these. Just build your mileage as a consequence of running the distance. Enjoy it and take your sweet time getting there. The A race can wait and there's still plenty of time to train smart for that once you've built a good base.

      i agree, you have it figured out. i'd probably take the garmin just to make sure i keep my pace at an easy pace. but as hard core as you are, i think you are being smart and doing it the right way. i am so proud of you!!
