    Bought the dang plant then realized I had to run home with it. Not a bad pace considering I was lugging it in my arms like a baby ;)

      LOL! Wanna know the best part? I didn't even lose a leaf or any dirt along the way :) Yes, I'm bragging! Ha! And yes, lots of people were checking me out...especially the cyclists, probably because they were jealous of my new plant!

    Running in the sand is HARD! Why do they make it look so easy & fun on T.V.??

      I used to live in Carpenteria and would run on the beach in the evenings... it is hard work but does wonders for strengthening your foot muscles and is pretty low impact... the easiest place to run is right along the surf line... firmest sand.

      The shells and broken glass is something you'll have to make a call on based on the beach you run on (never went to Carlsbad so not a clue but if the photo is an example then you should be fine. if you're worried try some water shoes) The beach at Carpinteria was pretty clear of things to hurt your feet... but had an ample supply of tar balls... always came home with some tar on my feet.

    Went longer than I had planned :) Last part I had nekkid feet. Ice bath in the cold ocean as a reward!

    Was going to just do 2 miles to even up the total # of miles for the week (OCD thing), but felt so good, I went longer. My pace was even faster than yesterday! Whoo Hoo!!
