injured Run: Cut short! argh... 3.18 mi 00:28 08:53 pace

I had it in my mind I would run 5 miles today. When I got to mile 1.5, that changed. The soreness in my calves came back throbbing hardcore, and started to cause shin splints:( It is defintely the change in shoes.

I could have pushed it to achieve my goal- but think I want to switch back to my nike frees and see where that takes me. Perhaps do some cross training- bummed!

Were you wearing the Brooks shoes? Bummer that they made your feet hurt. :( I almost bought some Nikes this weekend--Caleb got the new Nike Frees and I got some Mizunos. Anyways, hope the injury is short-lived!

yep the Brooks. I won't feel too bad shelving them since they were free. How does Caleb like the Frees? My pair is wearing thin and I think I might get a new pair!

Well, Caleb is injured too, so he hasn't gotten the chance to run more than .3 miles in the new pair. He's always loved the Frees, but this is his first pair of 5.0s. But the .3 miles he did, he loved. (P.S. Did you see that I ran 10 miles yesterday?!?)

Sorry to hear about the injury- I'm coming back from my longest forced downtime ever. It can be frustrating. Take it easy and cross train as much as possible until the pain goes away- you were smart to stop!

I had a pair of Brooks that also gave me shin splints. They were way to rigid for me. Feel better!

I have been more sore than usual lately, and I am wondering if it's my new shoes- they are also Brooks.
