ditto sandra: RICE~~ rest, ice, compression and elevation, go swimming in a public pool, do situps, abwork, work out with weights, exercises that won't impact the ankle. Crosstrainin really helps distract you mind off of it.~~ wait till the swelling goes down then run around the block, then try more and more, it will tell you.

When I sprained mine it was 2 weeks before I was able to run again. Listen to what the others said, ice, compression, elevation and ibuprophen... that worked the best for me. It still bothers a little but doesn't stop me. Good luck!
