I was pretty darn close to last for my 1st triathlon - hardest thing I've ever done, but I loved it and just need more training in bike (which I pretty much knew) & swim (probably not going to happen).
Details: 1/2 mile swim - I didn't drown, that's about all I can say. I thought I came out the water dead last, until a lady passed me on the bike. Not a big fan of spending any more time swimming this year though, so might have to find sprint tris with shorter swims.
12.1 mile bike ... just need to work on this more, which I'm happy to do. Passed 1 person at the end and caught up to another.
4.1 mile run. My legs were dead from the cycling. For the 1st 15-20 minutes it was a run walk shuffle. Then I got some water in me at the aid station, and ran the rest of the way passing 2 people ... everyone else was finished by the time I started the run. Lol - will be back for more torture in a few weeks - can only improve :-)
