Thanks so much, Andrea! Running on the road is so much harder, though, which is what I'm worried about. I'll be on spring break starting tomorrow, so I'll be running strictly on the road - hoping it goes well! Even the slightest incline and I'm huffing and puffing!

Amanda, if you're huffing and puffing, just slow down a little bit. And keep doing the walking breaks, it will let you go further in the long run. In January I signed up for a 5K in June, with full intentions of running it. Since then, though, my knee has rebelled and while running is out, I'll still be walking it. (I can walk fast!) Keep at it!

Terri - I'm afraid if I slow down I'll fall over!! LOL! The walking breaks have worked a lot better lately - now that my knees are consistently NOT hurting, I've been able to stop running, walk a bit, and then go back to running with little problem. In the beginning, if I stopped running, I couldn't go back to it. I've noticed it helps. Good luck with your 5K in June!
