Got to figure out a way to keep it interesting on the treadmill. Break it up into some intervals and go a half MPH up and down every 5 mins.

I had a lingering achilles problem several months ago. Like you said, icing and stretching help. I did wall stretches a lot (where you put one leg back and try to slowly push your heal to the ground). I also tried to strengthen my calf muscles by doing toe/calf raises. You may also need new shoes or a different type of shoe. You might also want to avoid hills for a little while. Hope it helps and good luck with your training.
