      do not stress. Baby steps. try walking fast for 5 minutes, then run for a minute, and work your way back up to running. I was out for almost a month with pneunomia, and had to train myself to breath again, you just need to train your body to run again-- baby steps! You will get there and will LOVE it after a few bad times and then the good runs will kick back in and your body will remember to cooperate! Mark it off to a bad day and try again and work your way up but have patience...

      suzi, i hear you. maybe don't push the running and just speed walk until your shins can handle more?

      Do you have KT Tape?!?!? You need some girl. Tape those shins. I swear to heaven it will help. Have ice on hand to ice your shins after each run too. Hey, you know what, that frustration sucks but you're getting started again and hell that is all that matters! It sounds like your shins can't handle the pace you're attempting, yet, so slow do when you start and you'll get there.
