    What kind of snake is tan with black spots? Saw one laying out, gave room! Legs tired, but happy with overall pace!

      Mother Nature is the madam (?) of camouflage, so that doesn't narrow it down much. Big black spots? Rattler, copperhead, hognose, some water snakes. Small black spots? Some other water snakes, king snake. Can't go wrong by avoiding.
