    Incredibly hot and strong sunshine... feeling pretty knackered now! Not the fastest ever, but to be honest I was pleased just to make it the 10 miles! 9 days til the half marathon...

      I am pretty chuffed - but it was bloody hard, I hurt all over! But still smiling faintly between the grimaces :)
      Just hope it's a bit cooler next sunday!

      Well done you. The longest I have managed is 8.5 miles and it nearly killed me. Not sure how I'm going to do the half marathon! Think I'll be lagging behind you speedy! :P

      The trainers will make a big difference. Make sure you restart training gradually too:)
      I understand about the shorts, the last thing you want on top of injury is pleb's pointing and laughing;)

      Thanks, hopefully they will reduce the strain on it. The race is in less than a fortnight now, so I'm just going to do whatever runs I can and see what happens... but at least my shorts will match.

      It was a bit warm, wasn't it? My sun-burnt neck is not thanking me lol :)
      I also had an epiphany that if I run that route the other way round, it'll be downhill for 75% of the run, rather than uphill for 75% of the run... common sense rules!

      Ha ha - actually if you look at the paces of our runs, we're not that different. And to be fair, I don't think either of us will be troubling the world record on the 13th!! :)
      As long as you realise I am incredibly competitive and I WILL sprint the last 30 metres just to cross the line in front of you...

    Not quite as far today, but was incredibly hilly! Went off route down some random public byeway which was essentially a mud track between farmers' fields. Good fun, and lots of uphill struggles!
