good 10 mile TT 10 mi 00:28 21.3mph pace
First ever TT and I managed the sub 30 I wanted. Trail wind out and head wind back so probably evened itself out a bit. Enjoyed it once I had finished but there isn't much to enjoy when you... read more

hmmm spin class or a 10 mile TT? If you're in the UK we have weather much like Sundays, I fancy the TT but not sure what times could be achieved in this mess
-
Dunno about you Steve, but when the weather's like this I get no pleasure at all from being on the bike. I'd choose the spin class, but that's just me xx

It would depend on whether i feel like a heroic workout or a straighforward good one :) I like the rain and wind mostly but sometimes i accept that doing a spin class may be better for me if i need a bit of a controlled, 'tick it off' workout! :) I like being a hero too though! lol! Saying that, if it'ss outdoor run or dreadmill... it is always outdoors....lol!

good 47.8 mi 03:15 14.7mph pace
This includes a cake stop (carrot cake obviously) after that it rained..... a lot. Then the winds, the fenland winds OMFG. Might have a sleep now :D

Was going to go to Masters but couldn't find my fins. Can't keep up on backstroke without fins so didn't go.........I wouldn't even finish the warm up

Poor excuse lol!

Totally true though, I suck big time at back stroke and the warm up is 10x Free 10x back and 10x Breast. Seriously cannot keep up for the 10x back without fins and need to be fresh to try and keep up on breast. just got a text that it was IM build so I'm even happier now because my fly also leaves a lot to be desired

swim
alright 600 m 00:11:00 29:30 pace
The lines on the bottom of a pool have a purpose!!! follow them and you are swimming in a straight line. many people in this town do not know this. Just cannot stand the ignorance

Nice Job:
Sorry to hear that Steve. People are pretty good at swimming strait here. Sharing a lane? Not so good. ;+)

Well, normally running gait can change only if you "run on your heels". If you keep your body out of muscular imbalances, running with a forefoot stride with a high cadence, your gait will never change. I am using about 6 different pair of shoes, 5 different brands. All has the same wear area, on the mid/forefoot.
I used to be a heel striker too, with bad bio-mechanics. Since I changed never looked back. Happy feet.about 1 year ago • Like

swim
good 2000 m 00:50 40:14 pace
steady state and just had a rest every 250 to let the faster swimmers by so we didn't get clogged up. 8-9 on a thursday is gym only swimming and its a revelation compared to a full public session

Not really showing off. 1 is with the club in the next town along (no tri club here) and the other is the local swimming club. I'm a member of the tri club because their session are more specific with open water and transitions etc but its not convenient to travel across every day so I swim with the local club when i can make their sessions. I actually have 6 coaches across the 3 disciplines. I train on my own more than anything because of shift work but prefer a coached session as I work harder

i also run in them sometimes, did yesterday's marathon in my 2XU tights - legs felt fine throughout (have done that a couple of times in the winter on races), also have calf sleeves for nicer weather - so far not had any niggles during races and the following day's ache hasnt been too bad either
