Went to the gym to do cardio, C25K, and shoulders but ended up not running. I tried a sample of Cardio Cuts before the gym and it made me feel awful. I got through my walking but I couldn't do... read more

Definitely better to rest the hurt legs. Don't worry about it being a little slower than you'd hoped. You'll reach your goals, and you've been doing great so far. Hopefully new shoes will help you out :)

Frustrated. Last time I ran was Monday, and after being on my feet all day my lower half is not happy with me. It was getting better until today, I am usually not on my feet all that much. The pain... read more

I know its hard to get out after a day on your feet, i work full time and my job is all standing. I come home, massage my feet, and just relax fOr a bit before running. Once the pain in my feet and legs is gone i put on my shoes before i got too relaxed and talk myself out of it. Its tough to find motivation but i feel so much better after

The best advice I could give you for your foot/leg issues is to get properly fitted for some good running shoes. A good running store will be able to determine which type is best for your stride. I used to get calf strains constantly until I got a pair of 'stability' shoes. It may cost more, but it's a wise investment.

Stephanie unless you can get some level of consistency I would not progress. Keep repeating until the continuity becomes the norm this will make the dictated sessions more achievable and enjoyable when you can complete them without undue fatigue.
As far as tomorrow warm up properly including stretching and see how you feel thereafter.
Dave makes a great point regarding shoes.

Glad to see the smiley! But like everybody said, be careful and don't try too much too soon. Being injured and having pain are not enjoyable at all.

Fegrig and Chad are right. Trying to do too much too fast is a recipe for injury. Sore muscles get better with running. Injured muscles don't. Be careful!

i agree with fegrig. i did a ten-week beginner's program in RW when i first started, and i had to repeat a couple weeks because i didn't feel ready to move forward yet. and i also read an article in (i think) outside magazine about how when you first start a new exercise, the very first workouts always feel easier than the ones that come after it and then it takes awhile for it to start feeling easier again. i can't remember why but just know this happens to everyone! just keep going.

New shoes are always a cause for celebration! I have run in Adidas Ozweego's for the last 6 or 7 years, and have enough to last me another 10 or so. If you got them fitted at a running store I'm sure they'll work great for you.
