With 2 miles to go, I passed a really old lady (80s) walking and she yelled out, "I'm so jealous of runners because I can't anymore". Obviously, that made me want to push harder for the rest of the way home.

I had today off for a funeral. Bereavement days are good for running and thinking.

    In hindsight, it was stupid to run so far and hard in my current state of conditioning (or lack there of). I haven't felt well in the hours since this run. I am lacking in good judgment.

    Steph, I think it's easy to get back out there, get really excited and push extra hard because you know it's in you to do it. Your body will catch up to your enthusiasm in no time, I'm sure. Rest, recover and get back out there. I'm so psyched for you!
