    Another 3 miler, the weather is really perking up! Oh, hello milder temperatures. My hair might still be a wet mop, but freedom from humidity is nigh.

    Still taking the dog out, but doing some small walking sections to give his body a rest. We'll have a cold front coming through, and I expect he'll be game for a full run when it does!

      I was a mountain biker before I was anything else, I think the learned bike handling helps a ton on gravel. The only fall I've had on gravel to date was a dog that ran out into me. The gravel gang that I ride with has a few loose cannons that fall a lot more than they should, like often even. I tend to think it's a matter of fitness outpacing skill.

      Had no idea there was such a thing as gravel biking. Definitely important to have a good fitting bike no matter what.

      Mike, I had a pro fit done, too, by a group in their shop. I think he knew it then but for the sake of not getting the guy who sold me the bike in hot water, the fitter didn’t speak up. These are all nice guys. It was not ill intentioned & they made it right. Alls well that ends well.

    It was really humid, but just cool enough to take the pup. I think this is close to his limit, though, so I took it easy on him. First run since coming back, legs were lighter than expected.

      This loop is good and bad. It's through neighborhoods that are hilly, so it's constant up and down, turn around. It really slows the ride down. And for a triathlete, it means there are few sections where you can be down in the bars for any meaningful length of time. But, on the plus side, it's a good workout and the constant changes in direction and elevation really pass the time nicely.
