great Gravel Bike Love 21.34 mi 01:33 13.8mph pace

Just an easy garminless run. Legs are stiff, but I'm guessing this run and stretch will help a great deal. Coughed mightly after this run...woof. C'mon universe, give me back my body. :)

  5. One more note, because I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything until Saturday in terms of working out....

Went to the clinic again today. Nasty ear infection. Onward.

Makes the story even better, doesn't it? And Saturday? I think a nice walk around the neighborhood is all you need to be doing. I hope you updated your PT on your good news.

Every IM experience is different (and "special") in its own way. This one was all about overcoming all kinds of adversity (beyond the course itself). So amazed how you perservered through all of it. So happy you got to the start line because I knew if you did, you also see the finish line. Congrats on a historic race. Boyfriend's quote is perfect. Finish anyway.

Glad you're able to keep moving. Careful to maintain an easy balance right now. Your body needs energy to fight your "gremlins."

Sounds like you're on the right side of the illness, on the mend. My mom always says 3 days coming, 3 days staying, 3 days leaving. Maybe you're 4 days from 100%. Able to run is a good sign. Having something in the tank when you finish is even better. Keep getting rest!

Maybe this is the tail end of your body getting it out of your system. Still plenty of time to fix.

I was going to say something about the air travel, but I didn't want to jinx it. But ALSO, I often get sick during taper (they don't call it TaperFlu for nothing). You'll be fine in a day or so. No worries.

it's just the normal Taper sickness. Think of it as additional body training.

Terrible timing on the travel. But you are in taper, so you are not going to lose any fitness. You'll be better in plenty of time for the big show.

Just because you're tapering doesn't mean that you can't have a long run. But you need to get it done soon. As the last couple weeks need to be pretty easy. Good stuff!
