Before I got to the part about acclimation, I was already going to say there must be some element of acclimation going on here. Forget this one. A perfect storm of sorts. There could have been a myriad of other underlying issues, too. Toss this out of your mind.

ohgosh. my race in may is notorious for being hot. i've vowed to over dress through April and May to get up to snuff for it.......I wasn't quite ready for the heat last year. I remember reading that it takes a couple of weeks to really get used to it. Anyway. Sorry this one sucked. On to the next?

Yes, 240 seems a little premature. Maybe it depends on terrain, too. Time to consider a different brand?

@Barb, isn't it true. It's a constant battle between rational and frugal! I had already ordered a new pair of the same shoes, which arrive today. And, just ordered a new pair of Kinvaras (thanks for the advice, @Chris!). It is worth knowing if the shoes are contributing to the issues. This will help sort out if part of it is wear. And if part of it is brand.

Grr. That is frustrating. I know it. And not being able to try other things is frustrating. But if it's unknown if they'll even help...I get it. Sounds like a MRI is smart. Or a chiro or specialist. Need to dig deeper, clearly. Damn, I'm hurting for you, friend. I hate this crap.

Hate this for you. The good thing is that your PT is being upfront, even if it isn't what you wanted to hear. You will be able to look at other options more quickly if she doesn't come up with anything soon. MRI sounds like the right next step. I'm here if you need somebody to lean on.
