Sounds like a perfect training route. Rollers can be harder than long sustained climbs, in my book. I'll take climbing passes in CO or France over Missouri Rollers any day. Tough!

It is not a fast route, but it has just the right amount of challenge and variety to keep it interesting. Going to keep poking around to find new roads, too. This actually connected at the halfway point to old routes, so only half was truly "new."

I have that happen on my runs in a water belt pocket. Even with baggie. I am going to test turning "Raise to Wake" off (in display settings). That way the lock screen doesn't come up unless I press the home button.

I have a Moto Droid that used to wake up a lot until I disabled all of the motion activated options. Those also wreck havoc on a phone battery when it is in your pocket.

I can try to remove the motion functions while I ride.... I was calling my boyfriend when I got home from my take-2 ride yesterday. Sigh. And, when the call ended, I had the medical emergency screen up again.

Good call. The Garmin was just for capturing a few datapoints to compare to in the future. Another option is to change the screen to just duration/distance/HR and not have pace visible. And 100% humidity will suck the life out of any run (human or canine). And for goodness sakes, no place for hate.

Great advice, as always. Appreciate the perspective, and I will absolutely find something achievable to set my sights on. There are a few big hills, I thought about using these as goals -- running hard up the hills, jogging down, for a nice workout and a way to build my strength on them.

Bob, I am telling myself that for sure! I need to run the wheel by my mechanic asap -- there is a good chance the sound I was hearing is a bearing. So I'll be on the gravel bike this weekend, and crossing my fingers for a fast fix so I can get back on my first choice bike. :)

Total win. Yes, of course the numbers are skewed with a pup and hills. Hard to find a groove with both. It would be good to do a warm up easy to the park, push inside the park, and then cooldown back. Similar to how I run to the HS track. And no nerve pain! That's major awesomeness.

That's my goal -- easy run to the park (2-ish miles), do some harder miles on what I *think* are smoother, flatter paved trails, and then easy run back. Maybe in a couple weeks :)

Keep taking steps towards where you want to be. Go ahead and wear the Garmin. But not to look back and compare. But to look forward. You'll want to look back at TODAY four months from now to show that you are improving in 2018. You need not worry about the past. Just reset, recalibrate, and look to strengthen things up from where you sit TODAY.
