I met up with some of the Columbus Road Runners for the usual Saturday morning run. Most were planning long runs in preparation for the Snickers Marathon. Some had planned to go later in the day because of the ice on the roads, but I needed to get done early due to Army obligations.
As the RiverWalk had ice on a good portion of it, we agreed on running to Lake Bottom Park. People could do loops around the park and come back in small groups when they completed their run. I got the chance to talk with most of the people as I jumped for group to group. My piano repair/tuner (Rick the "Piano Man") is also an avid runner and I got to run across the snow fields and link up with him. Lake Bottom park is his Saturday destination for running 20 or so miles every week. I cut it short and was hoping to get some pictures of the park, but my camera battery was dead. Then Carmin beeped in and let me know her battery was running low. A little cold and everything with batteries wants to take the day off! I trudged through some more snow on the way back to my car and enjoyed every minute of it.
New Shoes: ASICS Kahana 3 Trail shoes. They were incredibly awesome! Fit my feet well and performed well.
