Ran the first mile and half with the group, than splintered off and took training into my own hands. I was on bat last night for 3x1600meter repeats but I was cheated out of doing them this morning. Turned what could have been a non-productive day into a fast paced run. Miles 3 and 4 were at 7:04 and 7:03 pace, respectively. That's within my marathon Tempo training zone of 6:57 to 7:15.
Talked with another Soldier in my unit who is planning on going out for the Army Ten Miler team this year, also. He's in good condition and running the Tybee Island marathon in February. He's got me a bit on speed, so it would be cool if we both make the ATM 2011 team. (First try-out is June 17th on the rolling hills off Sand Hill.)
