Ho-hum run with the branch. Army formation runs may look cool on the TV, but in real life, they get to be a bore ... and are not a lot of fun when you are with a group of non-runners.

    Did you all do the caterpillar thing? That's what I hate the most, the slow down, speed up thing because the people in front of you can't keep a steady pace. That's why I always try for a spot up front whenever I'm subjected to formation runs.

    I prefer to run them in the back somewhere. I completely despise getting stuck in the inside columns ... that's the worst for me. If I can, I play road guard.

    That would definitely be the other option, I agree that getting stuck in the middle always blows. I'm really not fast enough to catch up playing road guard, so I try to get to call cadence, THAT I can manage.
