Okay Dr. DM, help a girl out. Pain in bottom of foot, mostly in heel region. Swelling on top outside of foot, closer to ankle than toes. Hurts most when I have shoes on or roll my foot to the side. Coach Joe says to ice and not run for a few days. I'm ... read more

Lots of hills. So many hills. Did I mention the hills? Yeah. Run was mostly great, except the last hill into the wind. OUCH!

You are doing awesome!! That pace with all of those hills? Those hills are going to kick my ass in April.

Christy ran 6.2 miles in 59 mins greatTNT 6 Miler/Kent Creek Road – 6.2 mi / 00:60 09:39 pace
So beautiful today in the Texas hill country. Definitely a little breezier than I'd like, but without the jogging stroller it is SO much easier. My mom and cousin joined me and walked, and my neighbor Marlena ran part of the way with me. Nice to have c... read more

Nice 6, Christy-- and looking good on the pace! Thanks for the comments on my runs, but don't take your 6 lightly! It's a solid distance, and mastery of that distance can lead you as far as you want to run, just a matter of taking it one step at a time!

Great pace... You can probably finish a 10k faster than me right now.

Christy ran 3.51 miles in 33 mins goodTNT Tempo Run – 3.51 mi / 00:33 09:24 pace
Mixed up the route the time and was pleasantly surprised that 1/2 miles I had to run at a faster pace were downhill. YAY! Of course that meant that my easier 1/2s were uphill which was hard! The first fast 1/2 mile I did at a 7:45 pace and the second f... read more

Glad you had a good, enjoyable run today! Can't say that I've ever pushed to the point of dry heaving, though...that sounds like not so much fun.

Christy did a fitness workout 1.5 miles in 9 mins greatTNT Weight Training at the gym – 1.5 mi / 00:09:00
I hit the gym today for some Coach Joe prescribed "maximum effort" weight training. Warmed up for a mile running on the treadmill, hit the weights, and then did another 1/2 mile on the treadmill before hitting the shower. Totally forgot my fl... read more

It seems like everyone's got some kind of knee injury. But, injuries are bound to happen but the one thing I can really suggest for this "soreness" is to ice that knee! Throw some peas on it and enjoy a good magazine.

I'm with everyone - EW! I get skin crawleys just watching people walk on that floor without protection! EW!

Way to kick butt at the gym! -
Congrats on the awesome workout, but bummer about the barefooted shower. (Luckily, our gym has a plastic bag dispenser, I've had to "McGuyver" myself some shower shoes more often than I'd like to admit.)

Forty minute training run today. Weather is amazing. Low 70s and sunny, but OMG the wind, and the jogging stroller.
When I started out I felt a little cold, the outside of my knee started hurting about 10 minutes in and the rest of the run was run/wal... read more

Good job, Christy! Sorry it sucked, but you maintained a respectable pace nonetheless. Hope your feeling better now!

you're right, maybe the shoe issue caused the knee pain but keep an eye out for it next run any way!

Today my run felt unbelievable. Such a refreshing feeling after some of the crappy runs I've had this past week. The weather is cool and misty, with a slight breeze. I took a brand new route, running 2.5 miles out and then back. Lots of hills to tackle... read more

If it wasn't for the swelling on top, I'd think plantar fasciitis. I've had PF, classic heel pain, hurts when first getting out of be in the morning, but I've never heard of swelling top outside. I'm stumped.
4 days agoThat's what I thought, too, but the swelling on the top is really concerning me. It's ODD. Will be seeing a podiatrist this weekend at fitbloggin' conference, so she's going to check it out for me!
4 days agoThat's too bad. I hope you get better and keep your pace fast... ;-)
