blah Coast Road - tri bar disappointment 5.67 mi 00:24 14.4mph pace

I've decided I'm not gonna give myself a hard time about using the tri bars any more. I'm just not confident on them and I ride faster when I'm on the drops. From now on, if I want to use them I will but I'm not pressuring myself into it.

Other than that, it's a beautiful day to be out on the bike but as always, that headwind on the Coast Road is vicious. There's a pretty fast downhill towards the end of the road and usually I end up having to hit the breaks because it's quite scary - today I had to pedal hard just to keep moving - that's how strong the wind is.

Nice ride Michelle. I have no doubt you are spot-on about the tri bars. If you don't feel right with them get rid!

don't blame you for ditching the tri bars there OK in a straight line but you need full control on our roads and in particular in windy conditions stick to it Michelle. have a good day.

Go with the drops for sure! If it's not broke, don't try to fix it.

    Great effort.

Nice ride...Nothing wrong staying with what you are comfortable doing. You may just need to get a good fit on the aero-bars to make sure you're set up right...It took me a while to get used to them a few years ago, but once you get them set right and build a level of comfort, you won't even think about it again.

Fantastic wind!! Great ride Michelle!! I think you are doing the right thing. I think you will get comfortable with the aero bars eventually. But Scott might be right about the fit. I can't ride comfortably on my bike in the drops. But the rental I had in January was great. In my case, it's mostly a fit thing. But being comfortable is the most important thing. Have a great weekend!

Just do what feels right Michelle. Its a long open road, no shelter, so you've no choice but to battle the best you can. When it got too bad for me, I stopped in the Canon for one until the storm died down....

Ok Know I love you - and respect you immensely . Take those bars off - You cannot add TT bars to a ROAD bike frame and have it ever "feel" right . A tt bike is angled to have you in the "sweet spot " and it feels right while in the aerobars . Just use the drops - and forget about those bars - anywho - great ride !!

With the effort you put into fighting the wind your mileage was probably closer to 8. Good ride Michelle.
