great The Rec Centre 01:00
I used the cross trainer for an hour before work. The first 30 mins were great as Stuart was there and we chatted the whole time. After that, it was just a case of getting it done!

Thanks guys. It's holding up well, thanks Paul. I get pain in my leg when I strike the ground or push off, but the cross trainer supports my leg and there isn't that initial strike.

ahh, ok, I was wondering what it was since i see your still snowboarding on it..... no help from me as to what it might be or how to treat it, but if the cross trainer allows you to train pain free id stick with it for a while longer. I hope its nothing serious and that it clears up quickly for you Shaye.

great The Oasis 00:30
I really enjoyed this swim. I swam for 15 mins by myself and then Kathy, Dave, Stuart and Anne-Marie all showed up so I swam for 15 mins with them.

Thank you both. My leg is progressing but a way off being better yet :-(
@Sheena - heehee, no-one likes getting up that early! Stuart and I only ever see a couple of other people there at most! Those guys all swim after work a couple of evenings a week though and I don't usually join them but it was fun to this time! In truth, I'd rather run though!!!3 days ago • Like

Thank you everyone. I think it will be at least several days and maybe even a week until I can run again so I have realised that I will do the best I can do at Boston but it won't be a pb which was my previous goal. Still, it will be a great experience and I have a place in London 2013 so will aim to pb in that instead!!!!!
I was frustrated at first but there's nothing I can do about it so I guess it's a case of que sera, sera!4 days ago • Like

Shaye, Sounds like its time to go get a profesional opinion. As Stefan said dont panic, even if you need to take a break from running there are still plenty of other ways to maintain condition.... Personally id focus on Aerobic work, and avoid any faster speedy stuff untill its sorted.

Thank you all for your help that I read yesterday. I took a complete rest day yesterday and again today to try to speed recovery. I also saw a doctor yesterday who recommended a cream that I have been unable to get hold of so far but my tiger balm red is on hand instead!
From tomorrow, I will start cross-training with a bit of snowboarding. After that I will swim for 2 hours per day until I can run again which is hopefully soon! My limp is less pronounced today than yesterday.6 days ago • Like

Really good news Shaye, Id be very tempted to stick to the eliptical thingy for most of your volume this week, perhapes another walk tommorow and then ease back into running with all easy/recovery paced jogs.. let your feelings guide you and remember its allways better to er on the side of caution.
