Thank you for all the well wishes yesterday for my race today. It apparently wasn't meant to be. 2013 Iron Girl Lake Lanier was canceled due to safety concerns. Guess I need to find another one.

Good news: I finished my shake out before the rain started.

It may seem like the norm around here, but that doesn't mean that each friend I have isn't special to me in some way. Our running patterns are like part of our personalities. As for the sister thing, yeah, tell me about it. I ran a marathon in my home town and my sister didn't even come to the finish line or meet me for lunch afterwards (or ever) to say congratulations. She'd rather vacuum the floors. Oh well.

I am lucky enough to have an incredibly supportive family. I do get some interesting comments at work but for the most part, my friends are truly supportive of my passions. I am lucky enough to have friends who have been able to change to much healthier ways because they have seen what it has done for me which makes me sooo happy. You focus on what you know is important to you and those that want to come along for the ride will. You go girl. you are doing some amazing things!

He seriously told me I didn't need a helmet. Helmets were for rookies. He never wears one on his road bike. Blah blah blah. I told him he was a f'n moron and that I needed to go get one. If I had forgotten my garmin, I would have ridden without it. My momma didn't raise no fool!
