I have determined that the first run after a week of no activity is clearly, torturous! :-) Running during a cold however is probably the best way to release those toxins as long as the air you're breathing is a balmy +3 degrees. No speed records broken during this run but the small boost of energy that I'm feeling right now has put a smile on my face. I'm not sure why my competitive edge for running is not growing especially when I've played competitive sports all of my life. When I finally gave up my "have to win" attitude, I found my enjoyment for the sport I was playing actually doubled. My conclusion is that I truly do run for the sole purpose of pleasing myself and conquering goals. Now I shall reintroduce my mouth to the savoury flavour of the Baileys Irish Cream truffles that I removed from the freezer this afternoon... divine sensation for the tastebuds. Cheers!
