  1. Does anyone here use the jawbone Up or Fitbit One or the Nike Fuel Band?? Wondering about the pros and cons of each - Thanks!!

  2. First long run of the year was an epic fail - more pain in my achilles than I could bear - got 3 miles out and had to hobble home - going to an Orthopedic doc on Tuesday and she is a runner too so ... read more

I will never take non-injured running for granted again. I long for the days of nothing hurting when I run - did what I could, which wasn't much! Lots of walking breaks when the pain got bad -... read more

Yup running injured is not fun I always say to myself when I'm injured that I would take a pain free slow rain rather than an injured run any day. Nice job pushing through the pain to get those miles in Shannon!

I think I hurt it from over-training this summer - I am headed to the Ortho people on the 10th to see what they say...Here is the website for the tape - I think the idea is for better blood flow; I'm sure you could use it for both feet if you needed it! - Good luck!

I had the same problem a few months ago. Does it hurt to walk on?

Sometimes, it hurts to walk on, but not all of the time - but as soon as I start running, I starts shooting pain out and makes it unbearable.

The same thing happened with mine. I started walking for the same amount of time (or distance, if time allowed)that my runs should have been and that seemed to help more than pure rest. I also got a pair of CW-X compression socks that *really* helped. I started running a few steps during my walks but only as long as it was completely pain-free. It was months before I could run uphill, though. Hope some of this helps!

Ouch. I hope you start to feel better soon. Maybe cross training for now? Only say that because I wish I'd done more when I got hurt... now I'm working to rebuild just about everything.
