      70 sounds amazing! All of the above little gifts and little things that I hear them mention casually in conversation that I try to put in my memory bank for when I need it! I also like to give people books that pertain to what they made be going through in life that I really like!

      Great miles on little sleep and not feeling 100%! If you’ve had a sore throat for more than 5 days definitely get it checked out. But if it’s just accompanying a little sniffle then hot tea always helps!!

      Nice job getting up and out the door! We go for the yellowish white lights on our trees. Easier on the eyes. David did get the super bright white LED type lights to try this year and they did not work at all and I couldn't handle my eyes looking at them on our trees so he took them back and we went back to traditional. We don't really have outside landscape for lights so we keep it simple with a nice garland over our front door, pretty wreath and these little tree things on the sides of our

      Congratulations on a great race, Shannon!! Sub 2 hours after not running for years is fantastic!!! I ran a race in Arizona once after training in MI and it baffled me how many people were in fleece and hats and MITTENS at the 58 degree start!! So funny how you become accustomed to your climate! Looks like you killed this race and I can’t see what else is to come from you!! Congrats again!!

      First half since 2013!! That is so awesome! I love that running is always and forever there for someone when they take a break and then come back! That is perfect running weather and too funny you were in such different attire than everyone else due to your MI roots :-) A sub 2 hour half marathon after many years hiatus is awesome! So glad you got back into it! I am looking forward to what is next for you!

      Glad things healed up with taking the extra days off!!! We barely ever travel, but I would say hotel right now. We are going to SC this summer for a dance competition. Some people are renting houses near the beach, but the hotel will work well for us to be right next to the convention center, free breakfast every morning (adds up quickly with 6 people!), indoor pool, etc.

      Great 3! I’m so sorry your foot was feeling off. I hope it is back to 100% soon! I used to LOVE scary movies but I can’t really handle it anymore lol. I heard A Quiet Place wasn’t that terribly scary. I would probably be okay with that. It’s the paranormal stuff that really gets me scared and unable to sleep.

      Great 3!! So glad the toe is not broken!! And I’m glad it was feeling better enough to get miles in. Yes, two weeks out from race day you’re good to go with the work you put in! Just try to get what mileage in that you can. I’m not injury prone anymore but when I first started running I was 50 pounds heavier and had all kinds of issues (knee problems, stress fractures, torn tendons, etc). Nothing since I lost that weight thankfully!

      So glad it isn't broken and you are able to still run on it!! Glad it wasn't painful! I have no doubt you are going to finish strong!! I tend to get knee issues off and on (mainly from my IT band) and issues with the top of my right foot.

      Hmmm...not sure of any weird running habits...I do find myself always starting with my right foot forward when I start my watch....Oh, and stopping to play on the swings :-)

      Nice 5 with your running partner! I am normally a freak about my mileage because I hate stopping on random distances. I would even rather stop my watch at 6.2 or 8 or 3.1 or 10 and then keep running a little bit if I still had a little bit to go. If my watch ends on something like 6.4 or 8.27 or 3.18 or 10.34 it bothers me. Once you go over the mileage you might as well go to the next even number! However, I have had random numbers on my walks since H was born.

      That's weird about the dude that passed you and slowed down. As far as people vs none - I'm mixed. I love my group runs because of friends, but nothing beats some quiet miles, especially on a place like PCT or somewhere serene.

      Great miles!! I hate when people speed past and then slow down! Probably doing some sort of fartlek or sleedwork but it’s annoying. I prefer quiet runs unless it’s with one friend who I don’t feel bad slowing down. I’m such a turtle runner and I always think I’m slowing people down.

      Haha - I love that you raced on by him after he did that! That is the worst when someone does that! I think it totally depends on the day, type of run, where I am at in my training, etc. I used to mostly be a solo runner on the trail, but then joined my church running group and running with people became a big part of me. However, i think there is a time and place for all types of runs!
