great A Run of Exploration and Gratitude 1.56 mi 00:16 10:06 pace

It felt good to get the pavement under my feet and the wind in my face. The first run outdoors since I started my new job, and I wanted to see if I could find a good route. The roads in this area are a little busier than I was used to from my previous Little Rock routes, but there are sidewalks throughout, so no running in grass or in the road.
Ran through MacArthur Park and thought it was a pretty place (even with all the drizzle). I even had some running friends in the forms of a couple of ducks.
I was running by the Little Rock Veteran's Day Center, there was this older gentleman with a cane standing outside smoking. He called out "You're doing great! Don't stop running!!" Made me smile, but it also caused me to think: 'I'm able to get out here and run, and this older man can't.' It really made me appreciate what my legs and my lungs allow me to do.
