An ultra! Oh boy! So, a marathon will just be a training run then ;) That's an awesome goal CJ! And yeah, a better one is right around the corner.

Sorry, Chelsea. Repeating what Jill and Kim said, but you'll find another one. I saw a 50k around Mt. Bachelor in Sept. A bit of climbing. A guy named Dave is the race director. I'm sure they are many others out there too.

You're exactly right on where I'm looking Kris! It's called Flagline 50K and I'm going to sign up for it as there is no lottery. Thanks for the support guys!

  7. RUN
good Deschutes River Run 3.2 mi

Ran really smoothly today. Was a nice feeling. Some snow falling, but it gave me nice quiet trails.

  8. How absolutely terrible to attack people at the Boston Marathon! Sick, sick sick! What is the point of hurting people who have work so hard to accomplish something.

  9. RUN
good Deschutes River Run 2.8 mi

Had a good, strong run, pushing kids. A few aches, but doing well.

  10. RUN
alright Deschutes River Run with Kids 3.2 mi

Felt alright today. It's tough pushing kids though. We're trying to sell the stroller so it will be interesting figuring out how to get runs in with the kids. They can both ride bikes,... read more

  11. RUN
good Work Run Towards McKay Park 3 mi 00:30 09:50 pace

Took another route on my work run, trying to get a little more miles in. It was pretty windy out and it seemed to follow me whichever direction I went. Oh well. Warmed up a bit today.

  12. RUN
good Running through Historic Down... 2.7 mi

  13. RUN
good Work run - longer version 2.9 mi 00:28 09:39 pace

Good job getting out there! I don't know if your routes have hills, but when I start pushing the hills, the speed starts picking up even without really trying. Plus, to me, 9:39 is a pretty decent pace. :)

That's interesting that you like hills! I used to think liking running was crazy too, so maybe there's something to your hill enjoyment that I could grasp :). Your running efforts are certainly laudable!

I totally know what you mean. I often feel like a couch potato the first few miles. I yell, "Damnit, body! Don't act like you've never done this before!" I guess it takes a while to warm the engine, but it's nice when you can just run and enjoy it. Great job!

I think that will change soon for a few reasons. I think I might have to be off my feet for a while, which is really frustrating. Running is feeling so good right now. But that's life. I'll post about it sometime soon when I have more info. By the way, I picked up the audiobook for Finding Ultra. So far, so good! Thanks for the recommendation.

Ah, that's frustrating to not be able to run when you're really into it! Why don't our bodies just comply!? Glad you got the book and I really hope you like it! So many interesting diet tips - and they certainly seem well researched.

Wow, I thought running with dogs was hard. Running while pushing a stroller must be twice as difficult! Probably a good workout though. :)

I still don't know! I guess registration closed on the 7th, but you could still send mail postmarked on the 7th so they're probably still tallying it all. It's not super clear. Thanks for asking.

I agree! Had one lady give us a disapproving look for letting our kid fly off his bike, but perhaps she was really just disapproving of the fresh air, exercise and fun he was having? Who knows ;).
