Tried to get out really early for this one, but didn't realize sunrise is so late at the moment, thankfully, still cool when I rolled out the door. Took the hillier route today to avoid school traffic and get some elevation in. Felt tired this run. Finally went even further on my son's Feingold diet and cut the gluten out...told him I would do it with him, but I'm realizing, my body isn't enjoying the reduction of carbs & the replacement carbs don't seem to fuel the same as the Wheat/Rye/Barley, so I suspect this is where my tiredness is coming from. Hoping my body will adjust soon and I'll crack this new fueling code, so I don't feel like I'm hitting the wall the entire run. Wore my HRM today and noticed on the hills, my hr stayed in the 150's, where as previously I would be in the 160's, so all this slow running with the slower XC kiddos must be doing me some good. Did have to take a short break, inhaled a bug, which normally doesn't bother me, but this one sent me into full blown heaves, no fun, but thankfully, it helped me avoid that extra dose of protein! yuck! Now...on to watch Lil Man in his first "official" meet of the XC season!

Was the bug part of your new diet? Good luck to your son!

Hope he did well! Fantastic pace for feeling like you were hitting a wall the whole time :-). I notice it takes my body close to 2 weeks to fully adjust when adding/taking out a part of my typical diet. Hopefully you'll adjust quickly!

Good luck to Austin. Sorry to hear you feel like you're hitting the wall. Hopefully you are training your body to burn fat as a fuel with the change of diet and the slow HR runs. Or at least that is what the theory states. I haven't seen any results like that, but I keep hoping.
