What a great post! I love this! I hope to get involved with GOTR at some point. Sounds like you are an excellent running buddy for these girls and a great role model to look up to! So wonderful they enjoyed it so much and you made it run for them and also taught them to push to finish strong!

While browsing through the GOTR race pictures on facebook, I found something very interesting about the 4th grader who told me I was the best running buddy ever - she got a PR by 20 seconds! She told me that she had run a few 5ks prior to last weekend's race, and she was the one who said that her running buddy at the practice 5k pushed her too hard and it wasn't fun. Even though the program isn't centered around speed or times at all, I LOVED seeing that she got a PR while having fun!!

The really interesting part is that I was talking about this with my yoga instructor, who is big on spirit animal appearances and their meanings. We looked up the meaning of seeing the snakes, and snakes represent healing! He asked me what I was thinking of as I saw them, and I obsess over my foot all the time and that day was no different.

Thanks guys. I think I'm getting it worked out. Concentrating on getting my calf loose and gently rolling/massaging my feet. Various things are sore on that lower leg now, but I think it's a good sore where the muscles are starting to work normally again.
